Death Note, Vol. 2: Confluence by Tsugumi Ohba

dark mysterious
  • Plot- or character-driven? Character

4.0

I don't know if I can pin point exactly what has me interested in this manga, beyond it not being the romantic teen melodrama I've come to expect from most series. The characters are interesting intellectually, in the sense of not knowing what they're planning or how L will win against Light or vice versa. It's definitely weird, and I feel like objectively not much happens; there are many panels where characters (Light especially) deliberates and thinks to himself, but it does go to show character. I am curious enough about the outcome to continue for now, though I wouldn't say I'm eager/impatient to get to the next volume.
