Teen Villains - School of Evil by Elisa S. Amore

3.0

Feels like the exposition and rising action, but doesn't quite feel like we hit the climax.
Spoiler
~Something about the pacing of this book drives me fucking nuts. It's like someone took the first few chapters of a much larger book and cut it just before we start climbing the steep part of the plot diagram toward the climax.
~Conversely, the pacing between Gwyn and Alarick feels way too fast. On one hand, as teenagers meeting a week ago and then making out in the hallway isn't incorrect, but with Gwyn's characterization, it feels far too fast. The characters even admit that it feels weird.
~I would have liked more characterization from Gwyn and the others. I feel like we get told a lot more than shown. And what we are shown just feels like it could be more impactful.
~I can figure out all of the other villains, but who the fuck is Harland supposed to be?
~I may read the next one for answers, but I really don't know.
