This Too Shall Pass: Stories of Change, Crisis and Hopeful Beginnings by Julia Samuel

2.0

A strong start to a book that I felt held a lot of promise and words of wisdom; however, by the last section on identity, it became clear that the author has drunk deeply from the poisoned chalice of identity politics and intersectional feminism which rather spoiled the book for me. Not to mention a lot of the case studies were very hard to relate to, as someone who has gone through a lot, I would swap some of my problems for the ones I was reading about, put it that way. I found the 8 pillars of strength very useful though, unfortunately due to my unique lens and way of the viewing the world, I did not get much out of this book.
