As someone who loves the Dalmatian Disney animation films, it's possible I am biased towards this book. I found it fantastic, my edition is the one from 1956 so the writing was really small but the short chapters helped with this. The film doesn't follow this at all which I found to be a great relief. I loved the description in this book, even though it's primarily aimed at children. A perfect book to read at Christmas too, truly wonderful.
