Star Wars: Darth Vader - Dark Lord of the Sith Vol. 4: Fortress Vader by Charles Soule

3.0

Fine overall, in terms of artwork. Storywise, however, this next segment of Vader's story set during the interstitial period between Revenge of the Sith and A New Hope feels like a fairly tired exploration of Vader's psyche and the finality of his transformation away from Skywalker. Mix in some fairly space-filling stories featuring a third tier prequel trilogy Jedi somehow surviving Order 66, a nonsensical plotline about Jedi sympathizers within the Inquisitors, and the consciousness of a Sith architect/sculptor trapped in a mask, I'm feeling like this series has really run out of steam, grasping at straws, tiresomely referencing moments from the prequels and Clone Wars/Rebels show, while limply hinting at Vader's legacy/origin's role in the new trilogy.
