Amina's Voice by Hena Khan

5.0

Both my nine-year-old and I each read this book in a day, and we both found so, so much to love about Amina and her story. There were many rich layers in the story, covering everything from the way friendship can change in middle school, to finding one's talents, to developing one's personal faith, to family duty, to the terrible effects of Islamophobia. Highly recommended for anyone looking for greater understanding of other cultures--or for anyone looking for a deep and heartwarming middle grade read.
