The time spent in the van with Ayukawa and Kawana definetly changed the course of things. Of course, Kawana had always had doubts about her relationship with Koreda. But having spent time outside of work with Ayukawa definelty changed her mind and reminded her about her time with him wihen they were still together.

But what really sealed it in was the diner with Maika and Haruto. I wanted to first commend those high school kids for handling that break-up so maturely and respectfully. It gave clarity to Kawana that not every relationship is meant to be, but it doesn't have to end in disaster. It also showed her that having a platonic relationship with Ayukawa was not what she desired and that it is best to end it now before it gets worse. I found that Maika is Kawana personified in a young/puppy love, high schooler format.

I love that it seems that the ship is back to sailing, but what I didn't like too much was the whole process of it happening. I am no fan of Koreda and believe that he is a manipulator, however, Kawana should have broken things off the minute she knew she liked Ayukawa again instead of stringing Koreda along. I let it go eventually though since she had hinted to him that she still has underlying feelings for Ayukawa but found a way to twist her words and manipulate her and her parent feelings towards a relationship with Ayukawa.

This volume was just about clarity, realization and taking action. The development seems to be small in this particular volume, but I know will have a major impact on future volumes. Ayukawa's and Kawana's relationship dynamic will definitely change after the conversation is had. Whether they choose to remain friends for more chapters/volumes, or if they were to start their relationship again.

Thank God that that relationship with Koreda is over. I'm super glad that he isn't a second male-lead that I like, because it would only make the break-up harder. Overall I would rate this a 4.5 stars out of 5 if goodreads did partial stars.
