I so badly wanted to love this book, and the opening was sooooooo friggin’ good! Honestly, the intro was the book equivalent of mouth-watering good! But as the book continued it felt a bit more clunky - sometimes it was lyrical and beautiful and at other times there was a thud of disappointment. The disappointments primarily surfaced as too much repetition (even when it has a purpose I only want to hear the word c*nt so many times). I will admit that it is possible I put the intro on a pedestal and the rest of the book just couldn’t live up to the strong opening.
