The Golden Rhinoceros: Histories of the African Middle Ages by François-Xavier Fauvelle

3.0

This book is interesting, with 20 mini-essays on various things known about civilisations in Africa back then. The only downside is it’s a bit short, and the topic changes can feel abrupt. The information ends just as you’re getting into a topic. Given the sources relied on, that’s to be expected, but it’s still a shame.
