Shadow of the Hegemon by Orson Scott Card

3.0

I enjoyed this book, but Card seemed to be over-reaching in several places. I accept folding space time in sci-fi, but the speed with which Card takes the future world from status quo to Chinese conquest over all of South and Southeast Asia is a bit hard to accept for me. And his America in decline is a bit cynical, if not over done. This is more of a political/military thriller than sci-fi and reads more like Empire than the Ender's Game. Criticism aside, however, this is a very fun book to read for Ender fans.
