The Night Always Comes by Willy Vlautin

3.0

This was a heavy read. It kind of put me into a negative emotion of sadness throughout and even after the book was finished. The main character is living a troubled life, even though she means well by the people she loves. She’s constantly being manipulated and guilt tripped and gas lighted by her mother and “friends”. She has some hypocritical moments when she’s lecturing others about the bad decisions they make, as she’s literally making the same bad choice. I felt bad for her, but I also found myself feeling fortunate to not be her. It was a very fast short read, I finished it in a few hours.
