Bared by Stacey Kennedy

4.0

Bared is exactly what I hoped it to be! Aidan has all of the qualities that I enjoy in a hero. He's strong and loyal with a desire to do what is best for others even when it goes against what he wants and ultimately needs for himself. Aidan has suffered a tragic loss and carries the pains and scars buried deep within himself. Because of his loss he has limited himself to superficial relationships with subs. Although he has been playing exclusively with Cora, he's not ready to offer her any more than a purely physical Dom/sub relationship.

Cora is an experienced submissive and although she has been willing to accept the limited affections that Aidan has been willing to give so far, she is at a breaking point and things have quickly come to a head. Cora has to now decide just how little she is willing to accept in a relationship. Cora needs to decide if having a one sided relationship with a Dom that she has fallen in love with is better than breaking ties, suffering the pain of losing Aidan, and trying to piece herself back together enough to move on.

The emotional tension between Cora and Aidan is painful, heartbreaking, and wonderful. I love that Aidan's friends didn't hesitate to call him on his shenanigans and make him take a look at the empty way that he has been living his life. It's was good to see a group of guys take one of their own to task. Aidan is made to see how he is hurting Cora with his purposeful blindness when it comes to Cora's feelings. Aidan makes mistakes and messes things up a bit, even going so far as to bringing in a previous flame to help figure out what is bothering Cora. It was great to see how things are worked through between Aidan and Cora.

Bared is an entertaining and sexy read. It's always nice to get a story that is a good combination of enjoyable story along with steamy encounters. I'll definitely be reading more books in this series.
