It’s getting better with each book, let’s hope book 3 is even better!
I loved to see training and classes, and Sonea learning to use and control her powers. I was a bit annoyed at the bullying and how much she was allowing to happen but I liked how it got resolved in the end. The political plot is also quite interesting but there’s still a lot to uncover before it all starts to make sense and there’s only one book left, so I’m a bit worried about that.
Overall, for an early 2000s fantasy trilogy this is holding up pretty well and I’m enjoying the characters and storyline.
Picking up book 3 soon!
