Capital Dames: The Civil War and the Women of Washington, 1848-1868 by Cokie Roberts

4.0

Such a well researched and well thought exploration of the effects of the Civil War on women in Washington. Roberts pulled me as she discussed various women during the time. She does a great of creating vignettes of certain events. As a whole the names and people got a bit overwhelming. Overall, a great read.
