So I finally dived into a Sanderson epic. I thought it was about time. And boy am I in two minds about this series (spoiler alert, I  continued reading and am on the third book). Parts of it are SO GOOD. His characters and their development and journeys are deep and interesting and right up my alley, exactly what I  look for in a book. And some sections of the plot just explode with twists and action and heart-pounding excitement. BUT. Then there are pages and pages and pages and pages of detail and painstaking world building explaining things I  just don't care about, and these sections regular jar me out of my enjoyment of the story. So, two minds. If you love an intricately described magic system and being given pages of information on a world's history, then you're going to love this series. But even if you don't, you might find it worthwhile to slog through all that just for all the good stuff, which is hands down fantastic.  I'll leave that with you.
