The Desert Spear, by Peter V. Brett

4.0

I give up. This book is great. The story is fascinating. The characters are interesting and they drive the plot perfectly. BUT, I am just not in the state of mind to read such grey characters right now. I have an intense dislike for radical violent cultures and this book seems to take inspiration from the worst radicalization of Muslim culture possible. Seriously. I am intrigued and I want to see where it goes, but there's only so much I can read about a culture like that without it affecting me. Hopefully, I'll come back better equipped to deal with it and enjoy this saga soon.
