They Both Die at the End by Adam Silvera

3.0

I truly cannot understand what went through the authors mind while writing this. (In ways both good and bad)

- the romance was cute but imo forced. I think it was justified pretty well by the end tho

I can't even describe this book at all. It was a book honestly. the ending made me cry so bad and I think it's so unfair we didn't learn how Rufus died. They should've died together.

I only kept reading it bc I wanted to see if the death was as heart breaking as people make it seem, and yea put some Mr Magic behind mateo choking to death and u will have more than enough tears.

quotes

« Everyone stays speculating on how Death-Cast receives this life-changing information. »

This sentence did not make any sentence to me. I understand Rufus is a Latino NYC native with his excessive use of slang n stuff but this sentence cannot be correct like i just know that.

« Mateo sleeping on the train, holding his Lego sanctuary; Mateo sitting inside his half-dug grave »

Help this was so sad bc I could imagine him in all these pictures :(((

«...me in Mateo’s glasses and he’s squinting but so damn happy. »

By far the best pic i can see them so well now *cries*

« We have to get him to the hospital, you see that!” I say. “Come on! Stop fucking around! Let’s go!”
“I’m sorry. He’s gone.”
“DO YOUR JOB AND GET HIM TO THE FUCKING HOSPITAL! »

When he's protective over a corpse >>>

Ok sorry all that's it for this review. I think tbdate could've sufficed with the first 20~ chapters and then the ending. everything else was like filler for a book ?? idrc ab u burying a dead bird.
