Cream and Punishment by Susannah Nix

4.0

To be loved by Tanner King! A man who loses himself in Austen, waxes poetry, loves his cat, and has a devoted heart of gold wins the case for my affections any day! The perfect bundle of sweet and sexy, Lucy was destined to fall back into him from the start.

The chemistry between these two was hot hot HOT, and the story of Lucy, the one who got away, finding her way back to him once more was a swoon-worthy blend of fun banter, sexy showcases, and challenges that at times had my teeth grinding together. But, I wouldn’t have changed those minor frustrations for anything.

That same small town charm established with My Cone and Only transferred over to this intriguing follow up, and made for a sweet second chance at love, in the midst of loss and healing. The complexities (and toxicity) of both Tanner and Lucy’s family relationships were at the root of this story, and both their personal growths featured heavily. Susannah Nix is to be commended for the challenges and realities birthed by their story, and for the beauty that these two are creating together despite the rocky start.

I am really enjoying this series so far, and am looking forward to reading Ryan’s story in Pint of Contention when it releases in September, 2022.
