When a string of really bad dates has Mackenzie claiming she’s in a relationship with a fellow doctor at her hospital, Noah Taylor known for his grumpiness and gruff demeanor. And it just so happens Noah needs a mate, well a fake mate. His job is threatened by his Alpha status and he needs Mac to be his fake mate to prove his Alpha status has nothing to do with his job. But when fake mates turns into a real friends with benefits arrangement and soon feelings start to blur the lines they set, they have to decide when it’s finally real.

I listened to this exclusively through audio and I absolutely adored it. The beginning was fast pace enough to keep me immediately interested in their story but not too fast to be insta love. This had banter, fun moments and two characters who slowly open up to each other when they can no longer deny the attraction between each other.

This is my first shifter romcom and a dose of the metaverse and I will say this book made sure it won’t be my last. I love the dynamic between these two of a modern day world and job but also have the problems of a true shifter. It was spicier than I was anticipating but I loved every single minute of it. It had a perfect dose of spice, humor, banter and swoony moments.
