This Life and All the Rest by Brit Benson
4.0
4.5⭐️. This was a fantastic wrap up of the Next Life duet. I really enjoyed this. I would classify it as a second chance, enemies to lovers (kinda) story with the miscommunication trope in full force. It had a little too much of the baby/kid trope for me, but I’m probably one of the few women on the planet who doesn’t melt for cute babies and hot guys being great with kids. Like, my sigh of relief upon finding out that Evie was not Macon’s was audible.
This book did not have the toxicity of the first book, but still had ALL the drama, which I loved. Lennon and Macon really matured between the two books and I was glad that Lennon was no longer a pushover. I was so happy with the resolution of the Claire situation…she definitely got what she deserved.
I lived for Macon’s chapters in this book and I was thrilled that there were so many of them. I really enjoyed seeing how much he has grown as a person and yet also seeing that he still has his demons, but no longer lets them get the better of him, which was so awesome to see. And that dirty talk…
