The Brightest Star in the Sky, by Marian Keyes

2.0

2.5 *

It's Marian Keyes, so it's pretty much what you'd expect, and is underpinned with the theme of Authority Figures Dismissing the Concerns of Women, which is depressingly relateable. Lost stars for cartoon villainy, especially when contrasted with the well-drawn and resonant depiction of Kate's terrible mother.
