The Coming of the Third Reich by Richard J. Evans

informative reflective fast-paced

5.0

There’s nothing I can say about this Title that hasn’t been said before. Dr. Evans has made a thorough analysis of the Nazi party, German political institutions, and the historical outcomes of WW1. In this sense, Evan’s book (and the series in general) is a tittle which has completely surpassed previous efforts in the matter and should be considered the new introductory material for that period.

If I had to highlight just one section of the book out of all of them, it would be the one relating to the economic situation in Germany after WW1 and during the rise of the Nazi party. Evans successfully puts in its correct context the consequences of the Versailles Treaty (in the instances in which its impact is exaggerated, and in those in which it is forgotten), the world economic crisis, and the inflation crisis.
