An absolutely incredible ending to this series. I loved growing up with Sophronia and her friends. It’s hard to believe the girl we saw playing shenanigans in her family’s dumbwaiter is the same woman who now is ready to lead covert missions around the world. It’s not that we never believed she could do it, but more that amidst all the fun and laughter you have to sit back and go “wow, they really grew up, huh?” It’s what you’d want your 4 years of college to feel like: delightfully unexpected, wondrous in all you can learn, empowering in what you can do, and a safe place to get into all the good trouble you want with the friends you never knew you’d have.

This is escapism at its best and it might be the first time I’ve liked the audiobook more than the written. The narrator brought these characters to life and I was giggling on all my walks to the train and to work.

I’ll be returning to this world again and again and if this is a good example of all Gail Carriger’s work, I’ll be reading it all!
