This book was painful for me. Tonally, I’d describe its humor as an X-rated version of the show “The Big Bang Theory,” which, unfortunately, I don’t actually think is all that funny, but I can acknowledge and respect that other people will love it.

This book had its moments, but they were few and far between. I found myself wanting the digressions to take me somewhere, to a deeper thought, but they mostly just stopped at being quirkily observational.

The writing is very much of-the-time and the world the author built is odd and original and a silly commentary on life today, so points for that.

Maybe my mistake was in listening to the audiobook; the narrator sounded like Siri, which makes sense for the premise of the book… but if you can listen to a monotonous, computer-like voice for hours and not find yourself spacing out, be proud, you must have an impressive attention span. That coupled with the train-of-thought style writing just made it difficult for me to stay focused.

In short, maybe not for my ADHD girlies, but I’m sure for someone!
