The Heretic's Daughter by Kathleen Kent

5.0

I loved this one. The Salem witch trials intrigue me, so I knew I would enjoy the read from a historical perspective, but what threw me with this one is that the Salem witch trials were the background setting for a beautiful relational book about the love between a mother and a daughter. The relationships and character development in Kent's work are so complex and realistic. I was captivated and finished this in a single setting.

And I was shocked to find out that the Carriers were real people. Wow!
