Devoted to a Dragon: A Sweet and Steamy Shifter Romance by Lauren Connolly, Lauren Connolly

5.0

Lee, the male dragon shifter lead, loved Esme, the female harpy lead, as a teenager and was set to leave his parents and make his way with her until his parents deceived him, forcing him to take his dragon form to survive in the Antarctic, which should have left a dragon for 40 years. Desperation and perseverance meant that he found a way to change and make his way back to North America and Esme after 20 years but now he’s not sure if Esme would still want him. Renting the flat above Esme’s business allows him to engage with her life to see if there’s a space for him…

This short novella is male lead POV, well written, and a sweet and steamy paranormal romance. I enjoyed Lee’s determination, perseverance, and resilience in the face of his parents’ betrayal. I enjoyed Esme’s steadfastness and loyalty. I enjoyed their intimate scenes and the relationship they rebuilt. I enjoyed the secondary characters and the town. I would have liked it if it was longer and had some female lead perspective but it was a beautiful tale.

I received a complimentary copy from the author and this is my voluntary review.
