So far I’ve read about half of ft lukens’s books and the results are mixed. I think this book is really meant for teenagers but i struggled to get through it in the middle, and the end was really rushed. I didn’t like the protagonist for most of the book either. I kinda felt like a deflated balloon at the end. The love interest has no flaws and honestly not a lot of personality. I would have given it a 3/5 if the ending didn’t frustrate me so much. Also it’s unrealistic that the main character’s fear of coming out was entirely in his head. Spell Bound has a lot of similarities in concept but is honestly much better executed. FT Lukens has really grown as a writer.
