The Kindness of Strangers by Katrina Kittle
4.0
This book needs a trigger warning because I had no idea what I was getting myself into.
Kittle was brave in taking in such a heavy topic such as child sexual abuse. She sensitively and honestly tells a story of a young boy who is a victim of incest from both his parents, and how he navigates his feelings as the secret gets out.
Definitely an uncomfortable read but overall a well written piece. An earnest reminder that sexual abuse of children isn't just some horrible thing that occurs once in a blue moon, but is more common than people would like to believe.
After reading a few books with not so happy endings lately, The Kindness of Strangers has the perfect ending.
