I would like to extend my utmost gratitude to this book for pulling me out of a massive reading slump.

Now, as much as I would love to give it a full 5 stars for doing just that, I wouldn't.

Here's the thing: the first 50% of this book was FIRE. It was hot, it was romantic, and honestly, it made me forget that I'm not a fan of the I-don't-do- relationships type of hero (...and MFF scenes).

But then we get past the 50% mark, and things start going downhill.

What made me ultimately dock a star out of my rating is the emphasis on the naivete of the heroine in the workplace (apologies if this one is a spoiler, but I think it needs to be said). You'd think that the way she was so implicitly good at her job she would be able to translate that intelligence to workplace ethics and relationships. I got so frustrated about the way she thought of things that I was unable to support her character until the end. I almost thought that the hero was 'too good' for her even though he has his own flaws.

Despite that, though, I had a great time with this book overall. It pushed me to try new (kinky) things, and I'm not mad about it. I'm looking forward to continuing on with this series!
