Beneath a Scarlet Sky by Mark T. Sullivan

4.0

I had put off reading this, but it turned out to be a surprisingly good read, and, I feel, a good portrayal of life in northern Italy late in WWII as well as how humans carry on (for better or for worse) despite disaster around them.
There may also be some lessons about what "heroism" is, as seen from the outside versus experienced from within.
