Cursed Pirate Girl: The Collected Edition, Volume 1 by Jeremy A. Bastian

3.0

I chose this book from the library for two reasons, the first being that it sounded good, and the second was the pages. They were cut around the edges so that they resembled a stereotypical map, and it was amazing. I personally love when books go the extra mile to make them stand out (like staining their page edges a different colour!) so seeing this I practically lit up like a Christmas tree!

The main character was Cursed Pirate Girl and she was Bad Ass! She wasn't afraid, and she was ready to explore and get herself out of danger and stop a pair of siblings from fighting, and it was nice to see some great female representation! Especially because the drawings were fantastic, I was loving them all throughout the book! They really helped me understand the storyline because I struggled with it a few times because it was a little complicated to follow, I wasn't sure what was going on but with such detailed drawings, I was able to figure it out. However, this book did make me laugh a little, mainly the drawings. They were bizarre and perfect at the same time!

I don't think I'd read this book again, nor do I think I'd read the rest of this series, unfortunately.
