Blood on the Tracks, Vol. 1 by Shuzo Oshimi

5.0

Taking the space between nostalgia and the creeping terror of buried trauma, "Blood on the Tracks: Volume 1" works so unbelievably well that it could almost stand alone as its own short work. The artwork is stunningly intricate, beautiful, and where it needs to be horrifying it does it spectacularly. Shuzo Oshimi's mastery of slight facial expressions and small gestures make this hard to surpass in terms of horror that is both very haunting and also commendably subtle.
