There's a poetry to the fact that I took this photo BEFORE I knew that this book was about the Underground Railroad - what are the chances! This beautiful novel set in the 1850's tells the story of Honor, a young Quaker woman who migrates to America. Told through prose, letters home and a metaphor about Quilting, the simplicity of Honor's life and thinking makes for a very compelling book. Like Girl with a Pearl Earring - read it in a day!
