Adventures in Cryptozoology: Hunting for Yetis, Mongolian Deathworms and Other Not-So-Mythical Monsters (Almanac of Mythological Creatures, Cryptoz by Richard Freeman

adventurous informative medium-paced

4.0

This book is written on the premise that 1. Cryptozoology is a bona fide field of science and 2. Cryptids exist.

As a sceptic who is fascinated by the stories and beliefs surrounding cryptids, I found this to be a mostly enjoyable read. The science and evidence doesn't support the existence of cryptids as much as Freeman claims but I did appreciate that he included examples of case where known animals were more likely the cause then unknown animals.

The book covers a wide-range of cryptids and despite the sometimes painful attempts at humour I enjoyed more than I expected to.
