The One Memory of Flora Banks by Emily Barr

3.0

Whoa, this was a weird read and I'm not 100% sure how I felt about it. Flora had a brain tumor removed at the age of ten and has not been able to form short term memories since. Then she kisses her best friend's boyfriend, Drake, before he leaves for Norway and something amazing happens, she actually has a memory of that moment happening. After Flora's parents leave her to take care of her sick, older brother, Flora goes on an adventure to find Drake and see if she can regain more of her memory.

Told from Flora's POV, the story is super repetitive as Flora has to remind herself constantly through notes on her arm who she is and what is going on. I realllly hated reading "I kissed Drake" after the 10th time and got to read it about 1,000 times more. Overall I still thought this was an interesting read. Teens that enjoy stories about travel and forbidden-ish romance will still thoroughly enjoy this book. Me, I give it an eh.
