The novel started off strong. The Elizabethan court and Orlando status in society.
When he is changed into a she, their housekeeper and other staff didn’t bat an eye. This lack of questioning continued where Orlando was able to keep ownership of the house even though they were a woman and unmarried.
I didn’t understand the reason for the time jumps and why it had to span over 3 centuries
Overall a happy ending, Orlando finding meaning in life which is love and finding someone that compliments oneself.
Obviously a ground breaking novel for its time and it is the Woolf that I’ve enjoyed the most but I just didn’t feel like Orlando struggle being a woman to the extent that I thought it would. However thats just what I expected to happen going into it as i felt that Orlando wasn’t really held back by a lot of social boundaries of the time.
