I wasn't crazy about this book. It had a really interesting concept but I didn't really connect with any of the characters.
The idea that genetically modified humans could be pets was what lured me in but I never felt the sparkle I need to to really enjoy this book. While not really annoying I didn't really like Ella as a character and never really connected with her.
I found the Congressman and most of the other males to be creepy in this novel. They seemed to think that the girls were just sex dolls.
I was also surprised that all the girls were only 5ft tall. As a short person I usually seem pretty/beautiful girls being portrayed as quite tall so it was nice to see an MC that was so short.
I was happy at the mention of Canada and the fact that we didn't accept that humans could be kept as pets. I was proud of that.
I'm really curious to see what will happen in the next book
Edit:
I liked this book. The concept of a human pet was really interesting and I liked this better than the last time I read this.
I liked Ella. She was very naive but also strong in her own way. It was like seeing the world through a child's/pet's eyes.
I found the congressman creepy. I kept getting pedophile vibes off of him. I mean Ella was only 16 and the same size as his daughter!
I really liked Ruby. She was a smart and kind girl. I really hope to see more of her in the next book.
I don't know how to feel about Penn. He was a little bit all over the place.
I had mix feelings about the mother and the older daughter. Mostly I didn't really like them much.
I love that Canada was mentioned and that we didn't allow the disgusting law of humans as pets!
