Five things about The Retreat by Sarah Pearse đź“šđź“šđź“š

1. If you like multiple perspectives…
2. If you like two page chapters…
3. If you like mask removal finishes ala Scooby Doo…
4. If you want lots of action and no character development…
5. This one is for you. I did enjoy this a lot more than The Sanatorium (which I really hated because of the way the main character constantly beat up on herself verbally…and that’s in here too…but less than in the first  installment) but this read has confirmed that Sarah Pearse and I are not an author/reader match. I am so drawn to the premises of these books but the actual reading experience is ultimately disappointing. I’m totally willing to believe it’s not her, it’s me.
