Another fun entry into the Ranger in Time series! In this adventure, the time traveling golden retriever finds himself in Ancient Rome where a couple of boys training to be gladiators need his help. There is quite of bit of danger and violence to keep readers' attention, and they will find themselves learning a great deal about Ancient Rome in general and the life of a gladiator in particular. Highly recommended for grades 2-4.
