Meddling Kids by Edgar Cantero

2.0

This book begins with a prisoner being released on parole. He is one of the costumed villains the title characters sent to jail. We learn right away he may not have been guilty of his crime. The kids were adolescence when they solved mysteries over the summers with their Weimaraner. Now it is 1990 and they are in their mid twenties. The innocence and idealism of their youth has been replaced with hardness and and listlessness. This book is based on a fun premise of what happens to the "Scooby Doo" gang when they are older. However the dialog is awkward and the plot is weak. The author is too profuse with adjectives and profanity. More editing may have improved it. The characters are unbelievable even for fantasy/horror book standards.
