Threads pulling the plot in unexpected directions, the book’s main focus hard to pin down. But crooks delivers in the end, each thread, each story, each character important to getting us home. Beautiful writing, and fun to get the sounds of the story piped in through the audiobook. Music connecting us to each other and the past.
