The Hoodlum Army by Elizabeth Roderick

5.0

This was an extremely fun read! Very enjoyable and contained many moments that caused me to laugh aloud. I loved the premise and enjoyed the varied cast of characters with their unique motivations and histories.

The book drew me in very quickly and kept the action coming pretty steadily. The storyline remained interesting to me the entire time and the gradual reveals of characters' deeper motivations was very satisfying, as were their interactions with each other. The plot twists all made sense within the story, which I always appreciate.

I was easily able to follow the different characters' storylines and see how they fit in with the other storylines, despite so many things happening at once (especially towards the end!). I often struggle when books have that many different storylines going at the same time, so it's notable that the storylines in this book were so well delineated and clearly set apart from each other.

I highly recommend this book to anyone who enjoys action packed excitement, non-preachy social commentary, and/or rooting for the underdog.

I received an ARC of this book from the author in exchange for an unbiased review.
