this has been the most accurate portrayal of an anxious mind that I’ve ever seen, read, experienced, etc — I guess its true that it might not be for everyone, since anxious people have individual operations goin’ on in these noggins of ours, but I think even if you aren’t *exactly* like gilda, which unfortunately and fortunately for me I am, you’ll still see yourself in her, somewhere, somehow. you might see yourself in her sibling, or her parents who want to sweep everything under the rug, or the priest who has an endless amount of forgiveness in him, or the love interest that is trying, or the high school friend who is protective and fun. everyone you could ever know is in this book, you’re in this book. its funny, its sad, its overthinking, its not thinking about the things you need to think about, its fixation, its lying, its being who you are. its a lot of things, all of them worthwhile. and it’s my new favorite read, definitely.
