The Transgender Issue: An Argument for Justice by Shon Faye

challenging emotional hopeful informative reflective medium-paced

"That is why some people hate us: they are frightened by the gleaming opulence of our freedom. Our existence enriches this world."

The Transgender Issue is an eye-opening book about the reality of being trans in the UK and the challenges and discrimination so many of them face. This was a hard read because of how honest it was. Faye does not pull her punches and sugarcoat the truth of trans experiences for the reader. She demonstrates with facts and honesty the way that trans people are mistreated in some many aspects of life, from healthcare, employment to basic rights.

I would encourage so many people to take to time to read this to understand the realities facing trans people. I appreciated the wide scope of topics covered and intend to read more on this subject in the future.
