Wow, this book is dull. The premise is great and the idea is intriguing, but the fun stops there. This book is just a soapy teenage drama with sprinkles of an unremarkable fantasy world. The characters are flat and they change overnight and that apparently is enough 'development'. This book is also very very boring. Practically nothing happens and it takes forever to get to something intriguing. The best part of the book was the end and I'm not being cute by saying that, it was the best part because that's when it actually got good. I won't be reading the next books in the series however, the end may have been the most exciting, but it wasn't enough to save the flat writing and the clichéd characters. Two thumbs down.
