My Time Will Come: A Memoir of Crime, Punishment, Hope, and Redemption by Ian Manuel

3.0

Manuel is very good writer. I liked the straightforward nature of his sentences. His story is so incredibly horrific and the issues with the ways America treats incarcerated people is highlighted over and over in this book. It's not an easy read as Manuel's time in prison is bleak beyond measure. The book sort of falls apart in the last 40 pages. It gets confusing and also tries to be too many things. The editor seems to have let Manuel down which is too bad.
