I read this for my college English class and at first I was having a hard time getting into it but the more I read the more intrigued I was. This novel gave us insight into the rituals, beliefs and practices in the African culture that I thought was beautiful. The main character, Okonkwo, was not very likable since he was abusive towards his family and just a violent person in general.

Eventually the white men came in basically colonizing their clans and we se Okonkwo’s struggle with this and fighting for what he believes in.

The ending both surprised and saddened me and kind of opened up my mind more. It really makes you question if any history in the past were ever accurate or not because it ends up being others telling the victims story instead of themselves.
