The premise of this book was good, a variation of Jane Eyre. The delivery was lacking. I did not feel much suspense with this book and at times it felt more like a parody of a thriller than an actual thriller. There were also some unnecessary scenes added in, specifically the opening scene involving pedestrian death which had nothing to do with anything, and the repeated, detailed sex scenes, also unnecessary. I also did not appreciate finding out after I finished it that there was a bonus chapter not included with my edition but which I found on the internet which I think was supposed to clear up the ending, but only made it more confusing.
