Secret Lives of the Tsars: Three Centuries of Autocracy, Debauchery, Betrayal, Murder, and Madness from Romanov Russia by Michael Farquhar

3.0

Fun romp through the history of the Russian Romanovs. While not 'hard' history, Farquar's work gives us insights into their personal behaviors and lives, often from the views and words of contemporaries. If nothing else, this enabled me to see them as 'real' people and better understand the times they lived in.
