I just read Dragonflight, and I waffled between giving it an "it was okay" or an "I liked it."
Sometime before Impression, I googled "When does dragonriders of Pern get good" and that's not a good sign.
But, I kept going and there were parts I couldn't put down! Which is good!
But. I also had the distinct feeling that if I didn't know that Anne McCaffrey was indeed a real woman, and not a pen name, I would assume this had been written by a man. I suppose it was progressive for 1968?
The reason I went with "okay" over "liked it" is that I have no motivation to keep going! I obviously *have* the next two books, and I read the next few pages of the next book, but... ehhhh.
